The Oklahoma State Flag design was adopted by the State Legislature on April 2nd, 1925, and consists of a buffalo skin shield and seven eagle tail feathers against a Choctaw blue sky background. Two symbols of peace, a peace pipe, and an olive branch are shown crossed in front of the shield, while six golden brown crosses, which is the native American symbol for stars are spaced in two lines across the shield.
