North Carolina Republic Heavy Sewn Polyester Flag

Designed by artist William Jarl Browne, the North Carolina Republic flag was adopted by the North Carolina State convention on June 22nd, 1861 as the state’s flag after its secession from the United States on May 20th of that same year. The dates that appear in a semi-circular mold above and below the white star centered on the red field are May 20th, 1775 representing the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, and May 20th, 1861 which represents the date that the secession resolution was adopted by the state. The flag was carried by several southern regiments throughout the civil war. Like other secession states, North Carolina adopted a revised version of its state flag. In March of 1865, a bill was introduced and passed that changed the state flag to the version we recognize today.

2 ply polyester is the most durable option for those who fly their flag 24/7. This flag features fully sewn construction with artwork that is visible on both sides of the flag and lettering that reads correctly on one side only.

  • Heavy-duty construction
  • Fade-resistant
  • Sewn panels and embroidered lettering
  • Heavy canvas header with brass grommets
  • 4 rows of stitching on the fly end to prevent premature fraying
  • Flag size 3’x5′
